At SS Motors (Fuels) Ltd, we are a family-run, independently owned and managed company based in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. We have been serving homes and businesses within a 35-mile radius of our depot for over 55 years. With only one depot, we believe that we are small enough to offer a personal touch, where you will be able to speak to a member of our sales team directly. When you call us, you will be speaking to our Chatteris-based sales team, who will be able to take your order or answer any questions you may have.

Our History

SS Motors (Fuels) Ltd was formed in November 1966 by Arthur Munns and his brother Leonard Munns, with the original depot at Blackhorse Lane in Chatteris. From day one, SS Motors were distributors for Gulf Oil, and our tankers carried the famous Gulf blue and orange livery. In March 1970, having outgrown the original Blackhorse Road yard, Gulf Oil built a brand-new, purpose-built depot for SS Motors to lease at Honeysome Road in Chatteris. This has remained our home to this day.

The move to the larger premises at Honeysome Road was overseen by Arthur's eldest son, Michael Munns. In December 1997, Gulf oil was sold to Shell UK, which ended our 30-year relationship with Gulf. After a period of restructuring, Shell decided that they did not want to retain ownership of the depot, so in July 2005, we acquired the depot and entered into a new era of independence.

• Kerosene: Also known as Heating Oil or Kerosene 28, this is a lighter and cleaner fuel, commonly used in homes and businesses.
• Maxi Heat Premium Heating Oil: Formulated specifically for oil boilers, this fuel reduces sludge build-up and improves system efficiency, saving you money in the long run.
• Maxi Cook Premium AGA Oil: Designed for AGA cookers and boilers, this fuel improves the 'burn quality' of domestic kerosene, providing a cleaner and more efficient cooking experience.
